Vantage Risk Voices: Jasmine Delaleu

We sat down for a spirited conversation with Jasmine Delaleu, AVP in Vantage Risk’s Primary Casualty Underwriting. Her insights on developing a career in underwriting are well worth a read.
Can you share a bit about your career path and what led you to becoming a casualty underwriter?
It’s been a journey! My dad was in the army, so we moved around a lot when I was growing up.
I think it triggered my curiosity for travel. When I was studying at NYU, I jumped at the chance to study abroad in Italy, and after graduating I moved to France where I worked as a translator. I’ve always loved languages, which helped – the unique expressions; how vocabularies reflect humor, cultures and values.
Eventually, I ended up going back to school in France and studied at a risk management school there called IFPASS. That was my gateway into the insurance industry, which again began in France.
