Vantage Risk Voices: Meghan Radespiel

We sat down for a spirited conversation with Meghan Radespiel, AVP in Vantage Risk’s Large Property business. Her insights on developing a career in underwriting are well worth a read.

Can you share a bit about your career path and what led you to become a property underwriter?

My journey into Insurance has felt natural.

When I first graduated from college, I knew that I wanted to live in New York City, and find a career path that had a lot of growth potential. I’d always considered insurance as an option. My aunt worked in the IT department of a reinsurer and spoke highly of the culture and opportunities, and my dad worked in the industry too, albeit on the agency side of things. I started as an underwriting associate at Swiss Re, which was my first step into the retail side of the industry. From there, I moved into the E&S Property team as an underwriter and remained in the wholesale space until I joined Vantage at the end of 2024. That felt like both a great opportunity and a bit of a full circle moment.
